Doctor Visits
According to OECD, the average number of visits per person for all countries is 6.8 visits/year. Other research ranks Singapore, Japan, and South Korea as the healthiest countries in the world. In these countries, people visit doctors up to 16 times per year.
Recommendation: 1 Visit/Year to Primary Care Physician (Required follow-up visits determined by physician)
Health Screenings
Health screenings are medical tests used to detect diseases and health conditions. Most will be done as part of your annual physical, but many can be completed at home.
The following are based on recommendations by the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), a panel of primary physicians. Note: USPSTF recommendations are based on sex assigned at birth.
Screenings for All Adults:
Sexually Transmitted Diseases, including Syphillis, Hep B, HIV, and HPV (1x/year if sexually active or have symptoms)
Colorectal Cancer (1x/year for adults ages 45-75)
Hypertension (1x/year)
Screenings for Adult Women:
Sexually Transmitted Diseases, including Syphillis, Hep B, HIV, and HPV (1x/year if pregnant, sexually active, or have symptoms)
Cervical Cancer (1x/every 3 years for ages 21-29 and 30-65)
Rh(D) Incompatibility (1x on first prenatal visit)
Medications
